Behind The Design: La Quinta Luxury Kitchen

Behind The Design: La Quinta Luxury Kitchen

When it comes to designing a luxury kitchen, the possibilities are endless. Our clients wanted to blend mediterranean warmth with modern luxury.  Both evoke elegance and high-end craftsmanship, yet they are distinct in their approach, materials, and overall ambiance. The trick was to incorporate modern appliances and functional elements in with a home that is deeply rooted in old world design.

We brought in the warmth and charm of the mediterranean style through the use of an earthy color palette.  Deep taupes, warm whites and sandy neutrals all add to the overall look.  We painted the perimeter custom cabinets with Farrow & Ball Mouse’s Back and used a deep, warm stain on the rift-cut white oak island.

Rich Materials and Unexpected Touches

We brought in a mediterranean quality with intricate, hand-painted tiles by Walker Zanger and added modern, hardworking surfaces like the Della Terra Quartz by Arizona Tile.  The look was completed with a Waterstone Traditional Pull-Down Faucet in distressed pewter and cabinet pulls in burnished nickel.

Unexpected Touches

We designed a functional island with a 48” Dacor Gas Cooktop, an undercounter Microwave Drawer, and a curved end, suitable for displaying coveted decor and favorite cookbooks.  The curved element on the island blends with the large, arched kitchen window and openings in the home.

Foraged Home

We were able to add a walk-in pantry with custom wood cabinets, glass-front, counter to ceiling cabinets, and an extra prep sink with a full tile backsplash.  The pantry not only provides storage for food but also for the homeowner’s extensive dish ware collection.

With the right materials, design choices, and attention to detail, your luxury kitchen can become the heart of your home, combining both beauty and functionality in a way that suits your lifestyle.
